Specialization: Visual Storytelling Art
The ability to shoot and edit video is quickly becoming a sought-after skill. Many companies are looking for people who can bring more than one skill to the job, and video production can be one of the key ones. In this hands-on specialization, you won't just understand the concept of creating professional video, you'll actually create one for your portfolio! The component courses are divided into the stages of video production: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. In the Pre-Production stage , you will learn how to generate ideas, write proposals, scripts, and draw storyboards. In the Production stage , lessons cover basic camera functions, composition, depth of field, proper exposure, and shooting for editing. You will also learn how to light and frame interviews on camera and how to record professional sound. In the Post-Production stage , you will learn the basics of editing with non-linear editing programs such as Adobe Premiere, learn how to create aesthetically pleasing graphics, and avoid copyright issues. This course will be useful for educators creating videos for their students, real estate agents using videos to showcase homes for sale, small business owners/entrepreneurs creating videos for a website, non-profit workers creating videos for fundraising, and hobby vloggers looking to create more professional content. Applied learning project There will be quizzes, discussions, and peer review assignments throughout all three courses.
