Expressway to Data Science Specialization: Python Programming
How many times have you decided to learn a programming language, only to get stuck somewhere along the way, get frustrated, and give up? This specialization is for those with little or no programming experience who want to use Python as a data science tool. In the first course, Introduction to Python Basics , you'll learn the basic input and output methods in Python so you can write your first program. For more advanced programming, you'll learn variables, operators, and control-flow statements. In the second course, Introduction to Python Functions , you'll create and use functions to make your programs reusable and adaptive. You'll also learn how to use basic packages. In the third course, Python Packages for Data Science , you'll be introduced to packages specifically used for data science, such as Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn. In this specialization, you'll learn that programming in Python is like building LEGOs: You simply follow the instructions, match the pieces together, and create something interesting and unique. Instead of giving up in frustration, you'll find that learning Python can be easy and fun. Applied learning project Students will be introduced to the Python language and key data-manipulation packages through exploratory labs and instructor-led examples. Beginning with a single one-line Python statement, students will be able to use the most widely used Python packages to manipulate data and gain insights from data.
