About The History of Racial Inequities in Health Care course
In the first course of the Addressing Racial Disparities in Health Care specialization, you will learn about the role of public health in health care and will be introduced to important concepts and definitions that you will encounter throughout the course and in subsequent courses. You will be introduced to social and biological perspectives on race and racism and will learn about the history of unequal treatment in the United States. You will learn about the U.S. health insurance system, differential access to care, and professional challenges associated with diversity in health care. Finally, you will explore examples of resilience in health care that have been critical to maintaining the health of marginalized populations.
