About Successful presentation course
Few forms of communication can have the same impact as a powerful presentation. Even a short speech can move people to change long-held beliefs or take action, and a great speech can transform an ordinary person into a leader. In this course, Professor William Kuskin provides a series of pragmatic videos and exercises for successful public speaking and presentation. The course progresses through four themes - conquering fear, developing a creative formula, using verbal and body language, and anticipating your audience - so that you can unleash your personal power as a speaker and deliver excellent presentations.
Successful presentations don’t depend on perfect teeth, a deep voice, or an army of scriptwriters. They rely on many of the same skills that successful business writing and graphic design do: clarity, structure, and editing. That’s why this course is designed to give you the power to unleash your inner speaker and express it to the world. After this course, with a little practice, you’ll be able to walk into any situation and command the room as much as you want. This course can be taken for credit toward CU Boulder’s Master of Science in Data Science (MS-DS) program, offered on Coursera. The MS-DS is an interdisciplinary degree that features faculty from CU Boulder’s Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Science, and other departments. The MS-DS program, which is outcomes-based and requires no application, is ideal for individuals with broad educational and/or professional experience in computer science, information science, mathematics, and statistics.
