About Specialization Mind and Machine course
This specialization examines the ways in which our current understanding of human thought is illuminated and challenged by the evolving methods and ideas of artificial intelligence and computer science. Over the past half century, our collective understanding of "mind" - both biological and computational - has been revolutionized by topics such as cognitive psychology, machine learning, neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, game theory, and more. This specialization focuses on both the broader "historical" arc of these changes and on current research directions and controversies.
Applied learning project
Upon completion of the Mind and Machine specialization, students will be able to: (1) demonstrate their understanding of topics and strategies through quizzes, and (2) discuss and debate various arguments and interpretations of philosophical problems in debates and peer-reviewed activities.
