Specialization Medical Terminology

This specialization is designed for anyone interested in developing their medical language skills or preparing for further study in the medical field. Students will be able to identify common prefixes, suffixes, roots, and abbreviations, allowing them to recognize most medical terms used by healthcare professionals. Students will also have an understanding of the structure of the electronic medical record and be able to extract vital information from it. Additionally, students will gain a basic understanding of anatomy and diagnoses related to all 10 major organ systems. Applied learning project Throughout the specialisation, students will complete 3 final assessments to test their medical language skills through engaging tasks and real-life examples. They will also be given the opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills in a medical environment.
