Specialization: Leading People and Teams

In this specialization, you’ll develop essential leadership skills, including how to inspire and motivate people, manage talent, influence without authority, and lead teams. In this specialization, you won’t just learn from Michigan faculty. You’ll also learn directly from accomplished leaders, including Jeff Brodsky, head of human resources at Morgan Stanley, and John Beilein, former head coach of the University of Michigan men’s basketball team. We’ll share our research on how to effectively lead people and teams, and we’ll work with you to apply this knowledge to your own teams and leadership. In each course, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your new leadership skills through a series of hands-on leadership assignments. In addition, as part of the Capstone program, you’ll have the opportunity to solve real-world leadership problems.
