About Physics of Semiconductors course
This course may also be credited toward ECEA 5630, part of the CU Boulder electrical engineering master's degree program. This course introduces the fundamental concepts of the quantum theory of solids and presents the theory that describes the behavior of carriers in semiconductors. The course balances fundamental physics with applications to semiconductors and other electronic devices.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the structure of energy bands and their significance for the electrical properties of solids 2. Analyze carrier statistics in semiconductors 3. Analyze carrier dynamics and the resulting conductivity properties of semiconductors
