About People, technology and the future of mobility course
Welcome to People, Technology, and the Future of Mobility! Designed for beginners, this course will introduce students to some of the key technological innovations currently being developed in the mobility sector. It will also require students to apply a variety of social science concepts to understand the likely social impacts of these technologies. Suitable for students from all backgrounds, this course does not require any prior engineering or social science background.
The content it presents is based on a number of interviews and lectures and was created through a partnership with Siemens. The course also includes an interactive 360° video experience that allows students to explore the key systems of an autonomous vehicle, take a seat in a self-driving car, and learn about new sensing technologies that could be used in smart cities today and tomorrow. It will challenge students to envision a safer, cleaner, and more equitable mobility of the future. We will examine recent technological advances as well as the socio-economic and policy implications for two major evolving technology sectors in mobility: electrification and automation.
