About Nanophotonics and detectors course
This course may also be credited toward ECEA 5606, which is part of the CU Boulder electrical engineering master's degree program. Nanophotonics and Detectors Introduction This course focuses on nanophotonic light-emitting devices and optical detectors, including metal semiconductors, metal semiconductor insulators, and p-n junctions. We will also cover photoconductors, avalanche photodiodes, and photomultipliers. Weekly homework assignments will challenge you to apply the analysis and design principles you have learned in preparation for solving real-world problems. Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, you will be able to... (1) Use nanophotonic effects (low-dimensional structures) to design lasers (2) Apply low-dimensional structures to design photonic devices (3) Select and design an optical detector for a given system and application
