International Business Context

This course on the context of international business provides an overview of the conditions in which international business has existed in the past and how it functions today. First, the theory and history of international trade are briefly outlined, as well as the place of business in world trade. Then, the parallel topic of globalization and its impact on international business is considered. Then, the varied political, economic, and ethical conditions in which international business must operate are discussed. Finally, current international trade agreements and national trade laws and regulations are presented. Without an understanding of the context of international business, international business managers and leaders will indeed have a hard time succeeding.
