Engines and engine control circuits

This course may also be taken for academic credit as ECEA 5341, part of CU Boulder's Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program. This is our second course in the Sensor and Motor Embedding specialization. To get the most out of this course, you should first take our first course, Sensors and Sensing Circuits. Our first course provides you with instruction on using the hardware and software development kit we have selected for the labs. The second course assumes that you already know how to use the kit. After completing this course, you will be able to: ● Understand how to select the correct AC or DC motor for a machine project; ● Integrate a motor into a machine based on an analysis of the motor equations for voltage, current, torque, and speed. ● Implement the motor and associated rotation sensor in a motor control circuit in both hardware and software. ● Add the motor and motor control circuit to the microprocessor development kit. ● Create hardware and firmware to process the motor feedback data to the microprocessor for further evaluation. To complete the two course projects based on the videos in this module, you will need to purchase the following components. Note that if you have already purchased the PSOC 5LP PROTOTYPING KIT, you do not need to purchase it again. These parts can be purchased from the Digikey website, www.digikey.com.
