About Battery State of Health (SOH) Assessment course
This course may also be credited toward ECEA 5733 in CU Boulder's Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program. In this course, you will learn how to implement various health assessment methods and evaluate their relative merits. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify the main degradation mechanisms occurring in lithium-ion cells and understand how they work - Run the provided Octave/MATLAB script to estimate overall capacity using the WLS, WTLS, and AWTLS methods and laboratory test data, and evaluate the results - Calculate confidence intervals for overall capacity estimates - Calculate cell equivalent series resistance estimates using laboratory test data - Identify the trade-offs between joint and dual condition and parameter estimation, and the steps that need to be taken to ensure reliable estimates (Hons)
