Introduction to PhET Simulation for STEM Education

PhET Interactive Simulations (https://phet.colorado.edu/), a project of the University of Colorado Boulder, provides engaging, free, interactive, research-based science and math simulations for use at the elementary, secondary, and postsecondary levels. We rigorously test and evaluate each simulation to ensure learning effectiveness. All simulations are open source and free for all students and teachers. In this course, you will learn how to access and share PhET simulations with your students, and explore the features that make PhET simulations a powerful tool for science and math educators. You will also learn how to ensure equity in teaching through active learning. This course is the first in the Active Learning in STEM with PhET Interactive Simulations specialization, which includes a total of 4 courses. To complete this course, you will need to complete one assignment with a review: 1) Selecting PhET Simulators. This course is also available in Spanish under the title "Introducción a las Simulaciones PhET para la Educación STEM" and in Portuguese under the title "Introdução às Simulações PhET para Educação STEM".
