About Instructional methods in teaching medical professions course
This course provides health professions educators with an asynchronous, interdisciplinary, and interactive way to gain, extend, and improve their teaching skills. These skills can then be applied in their own professional contexts, with a variety of learners, at many stages. Upon completion of this course, students will: 1. Understand educational theory as it applies to health professions education 2. Relate teaching methods to desired learning outcomes 3. Explore a variety of applied teaching methodologies 4. Share successful teaching strategies Resources provided will include instructional videos, individual readings, recommended references, and peer-reviewed recommendations. All students must have reliable internet access with the ability to view streaming video. Some students may require the ability to use online video conferencing.
