About Designing activities with PhET simulators for STEM education course
PhET Interactive Simulations (https://phet.colorado.edu/), a project of the University of Colorado Boulder, provides engaging, free, interactive, research-based science and math simulations for use at the elementary, secondary, and postsecondary levels. We rigorously test and evaluate each simulation to ensure learning effectiveness. All simulations are open source and free for all students and teachers. In this course, we will explore strategies for using PhET to create active, simulation-based learning activities in math or science classes, including activity sheets that students can use to work independently or in small groups while having direct access to the simulations on their devices. To complete this course, you will be required to complete two peer-reviewed assignments: 1) Select and evaluate an activity sheet, and 2) Create your own science or math activity sheet that integrates PhET simulations.
This course is the third of four courses that make up the Active Learning in STEM with PhET Interactive Simulators specialization. This course is also available in Spanish under the title "Active Learning with PhET Simulations for STEM Education" and in Portuguese under the title "Active Learning with PhET for STEM Education".
