About Specialization Semiconductor devices course
This Semiconductor Devices specialization is designed to provide a deep dive into the fundamentals of electronic devices that form the basis of our modern integrated circuit technology. You will gain valuable experience in the physics of semiconductors, pn junctions, metal-semiconductor contacts, bipolar junction transistors, metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) devices, and MOS field-effect transistors.
Learning outcomes for the specialization:
*To study the fundamental mechanisms of electrical conductivity in semiconductors
*Understand the operating principles of basic electronic devices, including pn junction, metal-semiconductor contact, bipolar junction transistors, and field-effect transistors
*Analyze and evaluate the performance of basic electronic devices
*Prepare for further analysis of semiconductor-based electronic and photonic devices
Applied learning project
As you learn the fundamental physics of semiconductors and their role in modern technology, you will be challenged to solve homework problems that will challenge you to apply the principles of work in inference and calculation. You will also solve complex problems in analysis and inference, consulting with colleagues to synthesize your theoretical knowledge
