About Specialization Integration of Art and Science in Modern Dentistry course
This specialization is designed for a general audience, including senior medical students, health care professionals, and other health care professionals who want to gain a deeper understanding of dentistry. In three courses designed by Penn Dental Medicine, you will learn a basic introduction to dentistry and dental education, oral health and its relationship to systemic health, and current advances in dentistry and dental technology.
Students can apply the skills they gain in this specialization in a variety of ways, depending on the role and industry the student works in. Senior students considering a career in dentistry will be able to make a more informed career choice upon completion of this course. For those who are not dental professionals, students will have a better understanding of the relationship between systemic health and oral health. Finally, it is hoped that professionals working in non-healthcare industries related to dental practice, such as insurance and pharmaceutical companies, will have a better understanding of dental therapy and the scope of dental care.
