Do you need to understand what big data is and how it will impact your business? This specialization is for you. You’ll gain insight into the power of big data through hands-on experience with the tools and systems used by big data scientists and engineers. No previous programming experience is required! You’ll learn the basics of using Hadoop with MapReduce, Spark, Pig, and Hive. By following along with the code provided, you’ll learn how to perform predictive modeling and use graph analytics to model problems. This specialization will prepare you to ask the right questions about your data, communicate effectively with data scientists, and conduct basic exploration of large, complex data sets. In a final Capstone Project, developed in partnership with data software company Splunk, you’ll apply your new skills to perform basic big data analysis.
