About Social Work Practice: Advocating for Social Justice and Change course
In this course, you will learn how social workers in the United States are engaged in creating change and supporting the resilience of individuals, families, and communities in a new era. Students will have the opportunity to explore the social work profession, the various roles of social workers in different settings, the cross-cutting themes that guide social work, the history of social work, and contemporary issues.
Using a social justice lens, students will reflect on current issues that impact the lives of individuals, families, and communities and explore ways to advocate for needed change. This course can be taken as a stand-alone learning experience or as part of the Social Work: Practice, Policy, and Research program.
